Why water alone struggles with grease
Most kitchen grease comes from oils and fats — and oil doesn't mix with water. Rinse a greasy surface with water alone, and the oil smears, spreads, or reattaches instead of washing away. To remove grease properly, something needs to dissolve it first — and then help water carry it away.
What makes orange oil effective
Orange oil works on a simple, powerful principle: like dissolves like. Oil fights oil. Its key component, d-limonene, is a natural solvent that shares the same oil-loving character as kitchen grease. Instead of sitting on top of grease the way water does, it blends right into it — melting into heavy, sticky residues and loosening them from the surface.
That's why orange oil doesn't just cover odors. It actively breaks grease down. But loosening grease is only half the job.
How grease gets rinsed away cleanly
Once grease is loosened, it has to stay mixed in the water — otherwise it settles right back onto surfaces.
